I am affected by Monroe’s because I lived in the blocks located right next. It is one of Galway’s most famous pubs, although its large size makes it lose the essence of other more skin in my opinion (despite this, it is always up to the stops). Taaffes
I think I could say that it is my favourite bar in Galway. I don’t know why I have always felt a special connection with this place. It is authentic, old, dark, and dirty but has a lovely atmosphere, and Celtic music is played daily. It is easy to connect with him.
The King’s Head
A classic next to the previous one, it has several plants, an elegant atmosphere with wide chimneys, and singers who give everything (even once I saw a group dancing to Irish music). It is also a restaurant.
The Skeff
Perhaps the pub has a more impressive interior in terms of aesthetics. It almost seems you have entered a period palace rather than a nightclub. The portraits on the walls, the spider lamps, and the broad wooden stairs are something one did not expect to see before entering. It is a perfectly enchanted mansion where you can have a good time while listening to a concert with updated classic songs.
Tig Coili
One of Galway’s most special bars. It is very similar to the Taaffes roll (in fact, it is located in front) and has Celtic music live seven days a week. Its walls are decorated with many old photos, and the bar hangs tickets worldwide. He is slight and with a heart, but if you cross the door of the red facade, he will not disappoint you.
O’Connells
This Galway pub was already excellent since much of Ed Sheeran’s “Galway Girl” was filmed in it, and it pets it. It has many different rooms, almost like a maze with multiple contiguous rooms, several bars, and a large terrace. It is very cool; in the video, it comes out throughout the first part (you can even read signs that put O’Connells; you have it below).
The Quays
It is another place with a surprising interior, sometimes reminding us more of a church than a bar. This is because much of its decoration was imported from a French medieval temple (what things): stained glass, carved wood, banks, and Gothic arches.
